Worship

Music

Music is an integral part of our worship at Christ Church, and is offered in the richness of the Episcopal tradition. At the Sunday Sung Eucharist, the adult choir (and often the children's choir also) sing anthems and psalms, and help to lead the congregational hymns and service music. Organ voluntaries and improvisations are offered at both Sunday Eucharists. On occasion, choral mass settings are offered, sometimes with orchestral instruments, or special choral services programmed.

The Adult Choir meets for weekly rehearsals on Wednesday nights (September to June), and membership is open to all without audition. Repertoire is varied in period and style, ranging from renaissance motets to world premieres. On occasion, the choir joins with neighboring parishes such as St. Bede's Menlo Park and Christ Church Los Altos to perform larger works together.

The Children's Choir, directed by Ruth Ann Wrucke, meets for weekly rehearsals following the Sunday Sung Eucharist. Performing twice a month, sometimes together with the adult choir, the group sings anthems and hymn arrangements appropriate to the liturgical season.
