About our organ
In 1987, Christ Church undertook an expansive renewal project for the church grounds that included the construction of the carillon, renewal of the church building, and a new pipe organ. The project was called “Vision 87” and was partially inspired by the church’s 30th anniversary. Christ Church’s Visser-Rowland Op. 97 was funded in part by a generous donation from Mr. Jaques Littlefield. The instrument was dedicated at an Evensong for the celebration of the Feast of All Saints in 1992. Nine years later three additional stops, the III Scharff (BW), 8’ Hoboe (BW), and 8’ Trompet (PD) were added, completing preparations set up in the original construction. Today, the instrument remains an active part of the Christ Church community and is frequently used in both worship and concert settings.
