Sunday Services
At the heart of our community is weekly worship on Sundays at 10am. Our services are friendly, welcoming, and traditional. Each week, we dive into Holy Scripture, are inspired by thoughtful sermons and uplifting music, and grow in faith together through the sacrament of the Eucharist.
All are invited to join in fellowship after the service at our weekly coffee hour in the parish hall.

Our Sunday Morning Service starts just before 10 am with a prelude, usually played on the organ, but sometimes on the piano or other instruments. Our bells chime at 10 am to signal the start of worship. The service begins with a hymn and follows a set Episcopal form, or liturgy. Our liturgy is based on the 1979 Rite II of the Book of Common Prayer. We print out our liturgy in a bulletin each week to make it easy to follow and participate.
A typical order of service will include three or four hymns, one or two anthems sung by the choir, four Bible readings (usually from the Old Testament, a Psalm, an Epistle and a Gospel). Prayers are read by a volunteer and congregants provide responses.
All our Sunday services offer Holy Communion (Holy Eucharist) with consecrated wafers and wine to celebrate Christ’s Last Supper. Christ Church has an open communion table, which means everyone is welcome to partake no matter where you are in your faith journey. Children take Holy Communion with adults after Sunday School or child care.

Music
Music elevates our worship each Sunday. Our Visser-Rowland Pipe Organ and dedicated choir are a feature of every service during the program year. We also offer special music events, including organ recitals, youth programs, and choral collaborations with neighboring Episcopal churches.
Children
Children are always welcome at Christ Church! The voices, laughter, and cries of children remind us that we come together to worship as a community where all are welcome and we share in God’s Word and in the Eucharist together.
If families ever need to step out from the service, there is comfortable seating in the entry of the church (the narthex) with speakers and glass doors which allow for seeing and hearing the service. There is also a selection of books and coloring pages for children in the narthex.
Child Care (age 0-5) is available during the 10am service from September-May.
Sunday School (age 5-11) is also offered during the program year. Michel Hardbarger, our Sunday School Director, tailors a curriculum to the ages of the children present. Kids explore their faith through stories, develop religious language, and discover the nature of God through play.
Confirmation Class (age 12-15) is currently on hiatus during our rector search. We look forward to offering it again in the future!
We also offer many special events and programs for children, including a yearly Christmas pageant, a massive Easter Egg Hunt, and starting in 2025, a Children’s Choir. Click here to learn more about upcoming events.
Baptisms
Baptism is a sacrament of the Church, which signifies God’s love for us. Through Baptism, we are initiated as members of the Church and are “marked as Christ’s own.” Christ Church baptizes people of all ages.
Older children and adults will typically meet with clergy before their baptism to help them understand the meaning of the practice. If you would like to be baptized or would like your child to receive the sacrament of baptism, please fill out the form below and a member of the clergy will reach out to you to schedule a meeting.
The Baptismal Information Form should be completed and returned four weeks in advance of the service.
Weddings
Holy Matrimony is a solemn covenant between two persons, with the expectation that they hold marriage to be a lifelong union for their mutual joy, help and comfort. To be married in the Episcopal church requires at least one of the wedding couple to have been baptized a Christian. Christ Church provides a tranquil environment for a wedding ceremony with a church hall and patio that may accommodate a reception for up to 50 people.
The Wedding Form below should be completed at least six weeks, preferably longer, before the proposed date of a wedding as Christ Church needs to give the Bishop at least 30 days advance notice of a wedding.
Funerals and Memorials
At funeral and memorial services, we celebrate the life of the departed and proclaim our hope in resurrection through Jesus Christ.
Memorials, funerals, and interment services can be discussed and planned with our clergy. The order of service for a funeral follows the Book of Common Prayer.
Details are in the funeral brochure below. Please fill out the form below or call the church office for more information.
